Here is a health program for drug addicts. Are you into drugs? Of course, everyone is; even if you haven’t had a controlled substance in 20 years. Every thought you think acts like a drug in your system because it plugs chemical messengers into receptor sites in your brain (just like drugs) causing effects in your body and various emotions. These effects bring you health or make you sick. Ok, so maybe we should say you are a thought-feeling addict but the end results are the same. So here is a mental fitness program for losing weight without drugs. That’s right, lose the weight of negative thinking. The first lesson is to start thinking on purpose. Take charge of your mind and think thoughts that will rejuvenate you. To access these thoughts ask yourself questions like “What’s great about my life now?” Or if a challenge comes up, face it, and then ask; What’s great about this? and then reframe it, look at other possibilities and get free of the fear associated with your fist perception of the situation. Questions move your mind and make you go to the file that holds the answer. Who do you love? What’s the funniest thing you have ever seen? Go there, you’ll see, the answer triggers feelings (chemical connections). Drugs do the same thing. The
next lesson is learn to release HGH, the wonder hormone that reverses
the aging process, burns fat and builds new muscle and vitality. Its
release is triggered by the type of exercise associated with play.
Explosive bursts of running, and laughing, trigger it. Just do it,
you’ll see. Adults don’t know how to play, we are always
serious about winning or looking good. To trigger HGH have fun even
if you look like a fool. Play a game of tag with your spouse, chase
them around the table until you are goofy with endorphins. Tickle
them or better yet, invite them to tickle you, then try to get away
and run around the table. Tell more jokes, even bad ones are good.
Give up self-importance and dignity. But cheer up, I am not going
to ask you to give up sweets. Just give up the serious adult perspective
on life. Let-go, and be spontaneously playful. This
month make sure play time is on your to-do list. Think on purpose,
play more, laugh with reckless abandon, and cultivate gratitude, these
three ideas are great for your health. Remember the saying, Unless
ye become as a little child… Your feedback is always welcomed E-Mail me your comments.
